Asbestos Testing and Consultancy (ATAC) is a division of ARCA (The Asbestos Removal Contractors Association) and promotes the interests of testing laboratories and organisations providing consultancy services relating to asbestos activities.

CHAS - Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme

The purpose of the CHAS scheme is to provide assessment criteria that health and safety professionals (or other officers/consultants acting on behalf of an organisation) can apply to the health and safety element of a select list application. The scheme assess adequacy and compliance of the health and safety policy statement, organisation for health and safety and specific arrangements to a single, common standard acceptable to CHAS members and users. Selecting contractors who have demonstrated these standards goes some way to ensuring, so far is reasonably practicable, compliance with health and safety law. A Member organisation undertaking assessments may apply additional criteria to their health and safety assessment to exceed the CHAS standard, however the database entry reflects only the CHAS standard unless a comment is added to explain how the standard was exceeded.

UKAS Accreditation Inspection Body No. 244;

Accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 General Criteria for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection. Euro Environmental Ltd is accredited to undertake inspection as a type C body for the surveying of asbestos in premises. The Range of inspection includes, Location and assessment survey (type 1), Standard sampling, identification and assessment survey (type 2) and Full access sampling and identification (type 3).

UKAS Accreditation Testing Laboratory No. 2157

An Accredited laboratory complies with the requirements of international standard BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Accreditation ensures a Testing laboratory operates a quality system which complies to the requirements of ISO 9001. Euro Environmentals Testing Laboratory schedule includes Asbestos fibres in air, covering fibre counting and sampling of air for fibre counting, and the identification of Asbestos in Bulk Materials. Accreditation also includes mobile laboratories for 'on site' airborne asbestos sampling and fibre counting.

Approved work categories with corresponding notation values, specialisms or categories listed on the schedule which include project management, generic services (Risk assessment), environmental impact & energy (Air monitoring, Asbestos surveys), civil & structural engineering (Asbestos surveys) and building services engineering MEP (Asbestos:surveys, monitoring, removal)
