Fire Safety

Why do I need training?
Even though your local fire and rescue authority can visit the premises to check the fire risk assessment and fire prevention measures are appropriate, it is still your responsibility as the responsible person to ensure that all employees have received the relevant fire training. Fire safety officers should help you understand the rules and comply with them.

They can also take action if they think your fire safety measures aren’t adequate. For example, they might issue an informal notice suggesting safety measures.

They could also give you a formal fire safety notice. They will tell you what to do to fix the problems described in the notice.

What are my responsibilities?
In England and Wales, if you’re an employer, owner, landlord or occupier of business or other non-domestic premises, you’re responsible for fire safety and are known as the ‘responsible person’.

As the ‘responsible person’ you must carry out the following:-

  • Regularly review a fire assessment and advise staff or their representatives of any potential risks
  • Put in place and maintain appropriate fire safety measures
  • Plan for an emergency
  • Provide staff information, fire instruction and training

What courses do you offer?
At Euro Environmental we offer three different Fire Safety courses which will cover all aspects of fire safety. With its combination of animated video content and the ‘physical’ video presence of a tutor it has been proven to form a very effective and engaging virtual learning environment.
