The control of vibration regulations 2005 Limit
the levels of vibration a person may be exposed
to during a working day.
They require employers to ensure that vibration
exposures from the use of tools or
instrumentation used during the course of their
business does not exceed maximum levels.
Employers are required to assess vibration
levels and exposure times and develop strategies
to reduce vibration levels and exposures where
appropriate.
The regulations require that organisations
ensure there is a system of health surveillance
for all workers where there is a significant
risk of Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).
