Our cost effective DEEE monitoring devices are designed to detect the most significant target contaminants associated with this type of exposure.
Our occupational hygiene technicians will install and setup the devices at your site, as well as providing an ongoing monthly consultancy overview of the data along with an annual maintenance/ calibration service.
Typical scenarios that might benefit from this type of technology include buildings close to high traffic areas (schools, offices) RORO ferries, rail industry, warehousing and vehicle handling organisations (car auctions, vehicle repair garages).

Expotec diesel particulate matter sensors provide real-time, continuous measurement of the ultrafine diesel soot particles identified in HSG187 as the primary health concern. When PM1 levels approach the EU’s 50 µg/m³ diesel particulate guidance threshold, this signals that exposure conditions are deteriorating and that intervention ventilation improvements, idling control etc required. For diesel fume prone environments such as rail depots and vehicle workshops, PM1 monitoring offers a practical, defensible early-warning system for managing diesel fume risks and maintaining robust COSHH compliance.
Diesel Particulates
The particulate sensor will detect diesel particulate matter (DPM) as small as 0.3 microns in size using laser light scattering technology. These sensors are uniquely capable of measuring PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 levels, providing data every 5 minutes. This capability is particularly relevant for DPM monitoring, as research indicates that 90% of diesel emission particles are less than 1 micron in size.

As part of our workplace exposure testing and assessment service for clients, we often come across a frequent misunderstanding of what substances are sensitisers and the role that they play in Occupational Asthma.
If your business involves manufacturing, fabrication, welding or is based in a factory or warehouse, its very important you understand what Occupational Asthma is and how it is caused. It is now officially the most common work-related lung disease in the UK.
